On Aug 17/23 the McDougall Creek wildfire broke out and quickly grew to threaten our city (West Kelowna) as well as sparking two other fires in neighbouring Kelowna and Lake Country. The fire caused mass evacuations and numerous structures were completely lost or damaged, this was the largest and most catastrophic wildfire ever for our community, and we are a community who is experienced in dealing with interface wildfires. Esteem Lingerie was closed for 3 days during the initial stages of the wildfire and during that time suffered extreme smoke damage to our shop and all of our merchandise. We spent the next week doing everything we could think of to clean, restore and mitigate our loss however it became apparent that we needed to start an insurance claim. After a couple of weeks working with the insurance company, the restoration company and our suppliers it was determined that we needed to temporarily close down to have the stock replaced and the store cleaned and restored. We are halfway through this journey and thankfully on the road to recovery. Our goal is to re-open on or before our 18th Anniversary of Esteem Lingerie on Nov 6/23. #gratitudeforamazinginsurance #esteemlingerie #liftyourspirits

Esteem Lingerie is announcing our TEMPORARY CLOSURE effective Monday Sept 11, 2023. We have unfortunately sustained Smoke Damage to our store and all of our stock from the McDougall Creek Wildfire. Silver-linings and gratitude for an amazing insurance company, restoration company and suppliers that have our back! You know the Esteem Ladies are resilient and we will bounce back and hopefully be open again in 6-8 weeks.
