COMPANY HISTORY &
DRIVING THE ROAD TO SUCCESS

In the beginning, the Integra Tire Auto Centre in Kelowna was one man’s passion for cars…and trucks…and tractors. Doug Stranaghan opened the doors of OK Rubber Welders in its original Leon Avenue location in 1955. Legend has it that Doug’s philosophy went something like this:

“The only two tools you will ever need are WD-40 and Duct Tape. If it moves and it shouldn’t, use duct tape. If it doesn’t move and it should, use WD-40.”

But like most legends that’s only half truth. Over the subsequent decades, Doug and his wife Janet, who also made significant contributions to the business, strove for simplicity.

“If you put customers first, then they will do the same for you.”

Continuing support and the loyalty of their clients is a huge part of Integra Tire Auto Centre Kelowna’s success in the Okanagan. Since those early years, we continue to adhere to this tradition.

In order to accommodate the company’s steady growth, we moved from Leon Ave to the corner of Gordon & Bernard in 1960, and to our present location, 2160 Enterprise Way at the corner of Dilworth and Enterprise, in 1975. Today, Integra Tire Auto Centre Kelowna is still family owned and operated. Doug’s son Larry previously ran the company for 22 successful years. The company is now under the care of Doug’s other son, Bruce Stranaghan.

Today, we have state of the art equipment and top of the line products for all our customers’ needs. So contact us today!

Oh… and as far as the legend of the WD-40 and the Duct tape goes? They’re still around…and they still work!
