E Bikes and Pedelecs

EBikes are bicycles that are purpose built or converted with kits to use electric power. Electric bikes may have an over-sized frame, shocks, wheels, tires and brakes to handle the extra power being delivered through the drive train. However, it is still a bicycle and rides in the bike lane. Electric assist levels are obtained via pedal assist mode or by throttle. You may use pedal assist, throttle or no assist at all.
Pedelecs are electric bicycles that must be pedaled (no throttle). Pedal assist work automatically when you start pedaling. The motor assistance will come on to assist you only when you pedal, you do not need to switch anything or power-on anything. Overall, the pedelec has a similar behavior to a standard bicycle with pedals.
