"Weight" is only one measurement of our progress
--------------
This particular photo, used to bring up certain emotions for me. Sadness, frustration, confusion and just plain lost. I knew that I wasn't going to be conditioned enough for #cbbf standards and had a lot of things going on in my personal life. My weight, was 139.9lbs (stage weight is usually 123lbs). I felt at the time, that I was a failure and that stepping on stage in this condition was such an embarrassment ???????
------------
What I failed to take into account was:
-How little my waist was (23.5 inches)
-The balance that I had during prep
-I still had core definition which I rarely achieve
-how easy it was to reverse because I wasn't killing myself in the gym, and I was still eating the foods that I loved! Just in different quantities. -------------------
We often think that in order to achieve what we're looking for, we need to sacrifice and suffer. That losing pounds measures progress. Why? Can't we just be a little more mindful and make smarter choices? Yes there will be days when it FEELS difficult and that you want to give up, but always remember the positives what you've gained along the way. What have you learned and how far have you come.
