How do CFL, LED and Halogen lightbulbs differ? Well, CFL (compact fluorescent) lamps are more energy-efficient than traditional incandescent bulbs but less so compared to LEDs. LEDs are highly energy-efficient, have a longer lifespan, and are more versatile in terms of color options and applications. Halogen bulbs are an improved version of incandescent, offering better efficiency and colour temperature, but they still fall behind CFLs and LEDs in terms of energy efficiency and lifespan. When choosing lighting options, ensure dimming devices are compatible with your lightning technology of choice to guarantee smooth operation, and avoid damage to dimmers and bulbs alike!

Electrical loads with high power draw and surge potentials are typically devices that require a significant amount of energy to operate and can potentially generate strong electrical surges when they start up or shut down. Common examples of such devices include air conditioners/heaters, refrigerator/freezers, washing machines/dryers, electric water heaters, power tools, photocopiers/printers, high performance computers, home theatre systems and electric vehicle chargers. It's important to be aware what you are sharing a circuit with when plugging in a new piece of electronics to a home's power system. Let us help you avoid accidental damage!
